EVERYONE’S FAVOURITE STORE OPENS AT EVERYONE’S FAVOURITE MEETING PLACE
March 2, 2009
The quality, style and value that South Africa loves have arrived at Melrose Arch, Sandton, with the opening of Woolworths at Melrose Piazza on Thursday 26 March. With a trading area of some 5 200 m2, it is the first Woolworths store on three levels and includes some cutting-edge innovations in terms of store design. Catering for the needs of those who live and work nearby, as well as the many local and international visitors who are drawn to this exciting urban centre, Woolworths Melrose Arch offers the entire Woolworths range of food as well as an in-store bakery. Customers will also find virtually every range of Woolworths clothing, including studio.w, Twist and Country Road. They’ll also find a wide range of homeware, Woolworths own extensive beauty offering and exclusive international beauty brands, and digital products. The store also features a tapas-style winebar where shoppers can take a break and enjoy light refreshments, selected wines and Woolworths organic teas and coffees. Woolworths Melrose Arch will be making a difference to the local community in other ways as well. The store has formed a supportive partnership with St Vincent School for the Deaf and has already handed over a cheque for R5000 which will be used to purchase books and dictionaries for the school. Woolworths Melrose Arch will also regularly supply the St Vincent School with surplus food. In addition, Woolworths will be investing further in the local community through long-term development programmes. “We’d also like to invite our new customers to get involved in supporting local schools or other organisations through our MySchoolMyVillageMyPlanet initiative,” says store manager Jessica du Plessis. “It doesn’t cost the customer anything, but, once they join, every time they swipe any Woolworths or MySchool card in our store – or any Woolworths store in the country – Woolworths makes a contribution on their behalf to the beneficiary of their choice.” For more information about MySchoolMyVillageMyPlanet, pick up a leaflet at Woolworths or visit www.woolworths.co.za . You can also phone the Woolworths customer services centre on 0860 022 002. Woolworths Melrose Arch will trade seven days a week for the convenience of shoppers. Trading hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ENDS __________________________________________________________________ Issued on behalf of: Woolworths Issued by: liquidlingo Communications Contact: Monique Postema tel: (021) 424 1530 email: Monique@liquidlingo.co.za
