Win R50 000 And Have Your Soup On Woolworths Shelves In 2013
April 26, 2012
Do you love experimenting with ingredients until you find the perfect recipe? Not quite a Masterchef but have the makings of one? Do you have a soup recipe that has been handed down over generations? Is there one your family and friends beg you to make every winter? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions then you just might have what it takes to win the third Woolworths Soup Recipe Competition. Once again this year, we’re inviting all amateur cooks to bowl us over with their original soup recipes. Not only will the winner receive a Woolworths Gift Card for R50 000; their soup will be included in the Woolworths soup range for 2013. In order to make the finals, a soup will need to be visually appealing, have on-trend flavours, a good texture, and must appeal to a wide audience. If you’d like to taste an example of a winning recipe, pick up our new Durban Curry Soup, which won last year’s competition and will be available in store from 27 February. Created by graphic designer Kelly Crystal of Durban, it boasts a wonderful array of flavours and, in keeping with the traditional Durban blend of herbs and spices, it has unique sweet chutney undertones which further complement the hearty winter soup. Kelly’s soup was a clear favourite among the judging panel, with all the flavours balancing perfectly to create a delicious and truly South African soup Entries for the 2012 Woolworths Soup Recipe Competition open on Monday, 19 March 2012 and close on Friday, 18 May 2012. Recipes must be original and should be clear and specific, showing a list of ingredients and their weights, as well as a step-by-step method of preparation. Having received thousands of innovative entries from all over the country last year, we’re looking forward to seeing this year’s array of interesting, imaginative soup recipes.
