Every year, the United Nations encourages communities worldwide to celebrate World Teachers’ Day on 5 October and acknowledge the important role teachers play in society. This year, Woolworths is celebrating the 4th year of our “The teacher who made the difference” competition. The competition encourages learners to show their appreciation by nominating a ‘teacher who made the difference’, someone who has positively impacted their young lives.
Celebrate the difference & win
The Woolworths Making the Difference Educational Programme, in conjunction with MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet, invites schools to join us in celebrating World Teachers’ Day by encouraging learners from primary and high schools to participate in our “The teacher who made the difference” competition.
To enter, learners must choose a teacher who has made a difference in their lives, the school or greater community, and motivate why they think their teacher should be honoured. Learners must then write a motivation of no more than 200 words. The motivation may include photographs or colourful drawings featuring their favourite teacher. The winning entrant will receive a R2 000 Woolworths gift card, the winning school will receive R5 000 cash, and the “teacher who made the difference” will win a total prize of R10 000, which includes a laptop and a Woolworths giftcard.
Entries can be dropped into entry boxes at schools or submitted via
