MORE FOR MUMS AND LITTLE ONES AS WOOLWORTHS EXPANDS BABY RANGES
July 22, 2010
From October, parents and parents-to-be will find a bigger than ever range for baby and the nursery at selected Woolworths stores. The first of Woolworths new ‘Baby World’ areas have opened at Woolworths Sandton and Canal Walk, and will be extending to other selected stores around the country over time. To complement their own broad, modern offer and ensure that Woolworths is the ultimate destination for the new parent, Woolworths is exclusively introducing a range of world-renowned Mothercare products from the U.K., including bottles, push chairs, car seats, cots, cot bedding and more. The Mothercare range will initially be available at Woolworths Sandton and Canal Walk. “We really want to create a ‘one-stop’ baby world where customers can find virtually everything they need for baby from birth to two years old,” says Amanda Bromfield, head of kidswear at Woolworths. “We’ve expanded our ranges of baby essentials to include not only the traditional pinks, blues and white, but a whole range of modern bright colours which have been loved by our customers. We’re also excited about our brand-new layette range, launching in December, which will include virtually everything needed to outfit baby from birth to 12 months.” Bromfield continues, “We know that many people come to Woolies for baby gifts, and now they’ll find an even bigger variety to choose from, including beautiful blankets, a wide range of both basic and novelty socks, and adorable clothing including things like dungarees and t-shirts, as well as a wider range of booties, shoes and sandals. To make baby gifting even easier, we’ll also be offering gift bags and boxes.” There will also be a wide range of baby toys available, including an extensive range of Early Learning Centre toys designed to help baby’s development, as well as gorgeous plush toys that make perfect gifts. As always, baby’s comfort and safety are foremost at Woolworths. Every item meets or exceeds Woolworths stringent standards. For instance, no pins may be used in the making of Woolies baby clothing, all poppers are non-ferrous to prevent rusting and nickel free to eliminate possible skin irritations from nickel. Buttons and trims are securely lock-stitched on to help prevent any choking hazard, and any thread ends are trimmed to a centimetre or less to prevent them wrapping around tiny toes and fingers. Customers looking for excellent value won’t be disappointed. Woolworths continues to offer exceptional quality at excellent prices and hard-wearing, colourfast fabrics that will come through wash after wash with flying colours.
