TREAT YOURSELF TO A PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY TREATMENT AT WOOLWORTHS
October 26, 2006
Always on the lookout for new ways to care for and pamper customers, leading South African retailer Woolworths is to introduce in-store beauty treatments in eight of its flagship stores nationwide. The new in-store ‘therapy.bar’ is part of Woolworths’ exciting new beauty offering, which has seen the launch of Woolworths’ own private label ranges of make-up, skin care, and bath & body ranges as well as the introduction of some of the world’s leading brands. These relaxing, refreshing treatments will be provided by expertly trained beauty therapists from the Sanctuary Health Spa, who are partnering Woolworths in this venture. They’ll be using salon products by Elemis, one of the world’s leading treatment ranges, South African-made fynbos-based products by Moya, as well as products from Woolworths’ own new skin care and make-up ranges. Says Amanda Graham, Woolworths Beauty Group Head, “Beauty at Woolworths isn’t just about the products. It’s about the convenience of being able to pick up a lipstick or a moisturiser at the same time you’re doing your other shopping. It’s also about being able to relax and spoil yourself and enjoy a 15 or 30 minute facial, massage or other indulgent treatment on offer. It’s about us finding another way to make a difference in our customers’ lives.” Treatments have been specially designed to fit into the customers’ day. In just 15 minutes, you can enjoy a soothing massage, eyebrow shape, or mini manicure. If you have 30 minutes to spare, you could treat yourself to, for instance, a deep pressure massage, Elemis facial or pampering hand & foot ritual. A de-stressing full body massage, soothing eye treatment or complete manicure or pedicure takes just a little longer. If you want to make sure you look your best for a special occasion, you’ll also be able to have your make-up done by a professional. Combination treatments are also available – for instance, a facial followed by make-up or a manicure & pedicure. No appointments are necessary, though limited pre-bookings are available for certain treatments. Concerned about your privacy? Don’t be, because cleverly designed free-standing ‘pods’ in the new beauty ‘store within a store’ allow you to enjoy these relaxing, rejuvenating treatments (other than manicures) in privacy. Woolworths new ‘therapy.bar’ beauty centres will be opening between now and early December at these Woolworths stores: in Gauteng, at Sandton, Eastgate, Cresta and Menlyn; in the Western Cape at Cavendish Square, Canal Walk and Tygervalley; and in KwaZulu-Natal at Gateway.
