WFS'S NEW CREDIT CARD TARGETS TOP-END
April 12, 2010
Woolworths Financial Services has introduced a new and exclusive credit card designed to meet the needs of – and reward – high-earning South Africans. The WOOLWORTHS BLACK Credit Card, which joins Woolworths existing Silver and Gold Credit Cards, is the first new product to be introduced by the WFS/Absa joint venture since its inception in October 2008 and is backed by Absa, Barclays and Visa. Says Sam Ngumeni, CEO of Woolworths Financial Services, “We believe the new WOOLWORTHS BLACK Credit Card fills a very important gap in the marketplace and will meet the needs of premium shoppers, many of whom are Woolworths customers. We are tremendously excited about the launch and confident that this new card will be a valuable addition to our existing suite of financial products.” Woolworths Financial Services offering currently includes Silver and Gold Credit Cards, Store Card, Personal Loans and Short-term Insurance. Ngumeni continues, “Woolworths Financial Services continually strives to create unique and differentiated products that offer desirable benefits for our customers. We firmly believe that the new WOOLWORTHS BLACK Credit Card does just that.” In addition to convenient shopping virtually anywhere in the world, the WOOLWORTHS BLACK Credit Card offers an exceptional level of service and a number of exclusive benefits. Cardholders will earn a generous 3% back in wvouchers on purchases made at Woolworths with the card and 1% back in wvouchers for purchases made with the card outside of Woolworths. In addition, they’ll also receive the Woolworths TASTE magazine for free, enjoy free delivery of purchases made at Woolworths online as well as two complimentary coffees at Woolworths cafés each month. Purchases made with a WOOLWORTHS BLACK card will be covered by Visa Purchase Protection and Visa Extended Warranty. Ngumeni adds, “I think it’s important to mention that all these additional benefits are offered at no extra cost.” Woolworths Financial Services also promises an exceptional level of service for WOOLWORTHS BLACK Credit Card customers via a dedicated call centre with specially trained and skilled staff. For additional convenience, cards will be hand-delivered free of charge to cardholders. In a special launch offer, customers who open a WOOLWORTHS BLACK Credit Card account before 31 May 2010 will receive R1000 in fashion vouchers, which they can use when purchasing clothing (including Country Road & Trenery) at Woolworths. Application forms are available at Woolworths stores and online at www.woolworths.co.za. Please note that only applications reflecting a minimum income of R500 000 per year will be considered for this exclusive card.
